About Tusa

Tara is an art therapist with a B.A. in Integrative Counselling & Art Psychotherapy, offering therapy to adults both in person and online.

Her approach is humanistic and person-centred, with an emphasis on creating a respectful and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their experiences at a pace that feels right for them. Therapy may involve talking, creative work, or a combination of both, depending on the individual and what feels most useful.

Tara works with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, difficulties with self-esteem and self-acceptance, depression, trauma, work or study-related challenges, and family or relationship concerns. Her work is grounded in the belief that each person brings their own experience, strengths and way of understanding the world to therapy.

Neurodiversity, Education and Understanding

Alongside her work as a therapist, Tara has almost 20 years of experience as a teacher, including extensive experience working with neurodivergent individuals. This background brings an additional depth of understanding to her therapeutic work, particularly around the ways in which people experience learning, communication, relationships, sensory needs, expectations and the environments around them.

Her approach is informed by many years of listening to, supporting and learning from people with different ways of experiencing and navigating the world. She understands that there is no single way to think, communicate, process emotions or respond to life's demands, and she aims to provide a therapeutic space where difference is respected rather than something that needs to be corrected.

Tara brings compassion and genuine curiosity to this work. She recognises the importance of looking beyond behaviour to understand the person and their experience, and of adapting therapy to suit the individual rather than expecting the individual to adapt to therapy.
